Irish Teachers in the Middle East –
#MYUTEACHEXPERIENCE-GERALDINE GALLIGAN – Assessment Only Route (AOR)
Congratulations to Geraldine Galligan in securing a full-time teaching position in an excellent school in London through our Assessment Only Route. We met Geraldine at the Middle East GAA / Abu Dhabi Na Fianna GAA Club Championship in March and we look forward to supporting her through her teaching journey in the UK.
“The first time I spoke with Uteach was at a GAA tournament in Abu Dhabi in March 2017. I had been working as a teacher there for the last 6 years and I decided that I wanted to complete my QTS and NQT in England. I had a chat with Packie Bonner and Patrick that day and they answered all my questions and gave me any information I needed. Since that day the ball got rolling!
I sent my CV to Uteach and from then on, Katy from Uteach was in contact with me all of the time. A skype interview for a school in London was set up and Uteach even organised prep for the interview and also a practice interview. I got a call the evening of the interview to confirm that I got the job. I was delighted. I’ve been really impressed with the service that Uteach provides. They make things easier for the move to London; providing documentation, help with accommodation and information webinars for the year ahead. To be honest I couldn’t have done it without them. Anything I needed, I just sent an email or Whatsapp and it was sorted. I am here 1 week now and everyone is lovely. The school is nice and the staff too. I know that Uteach will be there if I need advice. Uteach has definitely made this route easier and I would definitely recommend that you use their service.”

#MYUTEACHEXPERIENCE – Sarah Burbage – Assessment Only Route (AOR)
Congratulations to Sarah Burbage, who completed the University of Sunderland PGCE International Qualification and has now accepted a teaching position in Hertfordshire with Uteach.
“I approached Uteach because of their professional and friendly approach. From the moment I got in contact with Katy, she was extremely helpful and supportive. I felt that she was very approachable and trustworthy. Since I have been working abroad for a number of years, I felt it was quite intimidating sourcing a job in the UK. Uteach put me right at ease and they were the most efficient agency with a sense of loyalty to customers.
Uteach helped me the most by always putting my best interests first, they were patient and understanding of my requests and needs. I sought a teaching position in order to complete the Assessment Only Route (AOR) through one of their schools and they fully supported me by placing me in a school that I could complete it. I found the experience quite satisfying and stress free since there was a strong sense of organisation and communication amongst staff.
I would recommend Uteach to anyone who needs help in getting the ideal teaching job or anyone who is looking to compete the AOR in a supportive environment.”
Irish Teachers in the Middle East
“Uteach found me my first teaching position in the UK in 2009. I moved to Essex not knowing any other people. Uteach put me in touch with fellow teachers and Irish people in the area. They helped me find accommodation, set up a bank account and get used to the area very quickly. Their recruitment, care and assistance was excellent.
The school I started in was one of the best in the area. I started as a regular Maths and Business Studies teacher and over a 7 year period I was promoted to Head of year, Deputy Head of the Maths department, then Head of the Maths department and pupil progress leader for grade 10 and 11.
Thanks to Uteach my career path was very successful in the UK and I can honestly say their care, professionalism and placement of teachers is outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone looking to start in a good school and seeking opportunities with their career.”
