Recruitment Process
-
All candidates initially receive a registration call to discuss their availability and requirements and to ensure that all required information is on their CV.
-
Uteach then adds the candidate’s details to our teacher database and list of available teachers and the candidate is then ready to be contacted about suitable posts. Uteach will complete the candidate’s registration process by emailing and posting them a Uteach registration pack which includes information on the agency and informs the candidate about documents that are required (transcripts, identification, etc.) At this stage, references are also checked.
-
When a suitable post arises, the candidate is contacted by phone or email and sent details about the school. These details will include the school’s website and most recent Ofsted (HMI) report.
-
If the candidate wishes to apply for this post, their CV is then emailed to the school for perusal.
-
In the event of the candidate being short listed, Uteach will organise their interview and cover the cost of their travel and accommodation up to a maximum amount of £150. These expenses are covered whether or not the candidate accepts the post or is successful at interview.
-
The interview day usually consists of a tour of the school, the teacher teaching an hour long lesson, the topic of which they will be given a few days in advance, and an interview with the head teacher and head of department.
-
Lesson plans, schedule for the interview day and any other details are emailed to the short listed candidate ahead of the interview day.
-
If the candidate is successful at interview and decides to accept the post, Uteach will then assist with their relocation to England. This help includes finding them suitable accommodation, preferably with other teachers at their new school. We will also assist in the setting up of a UK bank account and getting a UK national insurance number.
-
After starting in their new post, Uteach corresponds regularly with the teacher to ensure that they are happy in their new school. In the event that a problem arises, Uteach will endeavour to sort this out on behalf of the candidate.
-
Whilst working through Uteach, the agency will pay the teacher’s salary into their bank account weekly.
-
Uteach can also email candidates a list of available jobs in their own country each week with contact details should they wish to apply.
