Kathleen Brennan – Director

Kathleen spent 20 years in the publishing industry before starting Uteach Ltd. It is a family business, which is rare in the sometimes cut-throat industry of recruitment. Kathleen started the business in 2003 with nothing but the knowledge that there were teaching jobs in England which needed filled and qualified teachers all over the world who needed work. It helped that one of the other directors is an ex-teacher. Kathleen still has the same passion for the business that she had when it started, and the ambition to keep Uteach Ltd as the leading relocation teaching agency.
Claire Birch – Recruitment Manager
Claire went to primary and secondary school in Ireland before starting a degree in English and History in UCC (University College Cork). Claire left this degree after one year, to change direction and take up a career in art. She then went on to study Fine Art (Sculpture) in the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork. After this, Claire moved to England where completing a GTP (Graduate Teacher Programme) and qualifying as a secondary school art teacher.
As a newly qualified teacher, Claire took up a full time post in a comprehensive school in East London. She stayed there for three years in total and for the last two years of her time there was Head of the Art Department. Claire moved back to Cork in August 2006 and started with Uteach Recruitment heading up the Ireland office. Claire is responsible for the recruitment of all teachers within the agency and is also involved in the placement of UK and Irish teachers overseas. Claire's focus is, as always, to provide an excellent service to teachers and schools, while at the same time expanding and developing Uteach as one of the leading UK and only Irish teacher recruitment agency.
Liz Hunter – Administration Manager
Liz Hunter has worked with Uteach since 2005 as the Administration Manager. Her main duties are to ensure all our teachers are supported before, during and after their relocation to the UK. She makes sure our teachers are paid on time every week and deals with any queries the teachers have. After the teacher starts in their new post Liz continues to support them until either their contract ends or they secure a permanent contract..
Roberta Connelly - Administrator
Roberta Connolly joined Uteach in 2007. Her main roles include explaining our services to newly registered teachers, checking references, ensuring a smooth and stress-free trip for teachers attending interviews in the UK and organising accommodation and bank accounts for the many successful candidates. Roberta particularly enjoys the regular ‘field trips’ she is involved in to ensure that the hotels and accommodation where we place teachers are of the highest quality while offering value for money.
Brendan Hyland – School Development Consultant
Brendan did his PGDE in Science and Maths in the University of Limerick before registering with Uteach as a newly qualified teacher looking for work in England in 2005. He worked through Uteach in two schools before securing a permanent post in a school in South East England. He decided to move away from the classroom and opted to help other teachers find teaching posts in England, and joined Uteach Ltd in 2010 as a School Development Consultant to head up our Eastbourne office. As Brendan was a teacher who went through the process of relocating from Ireland to the UK he is perfectly placed to know what both teachers and schools are looking from each other.
Finance Team
Debbie Tinning, Linda Randall and Louise Teirney make up our Finance team dealing with accounts, invoicing and credit control.
