Teacher Placement Process
Our aim at Uteach is to make the recruitment process as quick and easy as possible both for candidates looking for teaching jobs in the UK, and for the schools where those candidates will eventually work.
How Uteach can help find the right candidate:
1 After registering with Uteach free of charge, all teachers are fully vetted. This includes the checking and confirmation of:
- -All references
- -Police clearances and criminal records
- -Qualifications
- -ID
2 The next stage is for Uteach to discuss with the teacher what sort of post they are qualified for, and what they are interested in. Teachers are emailed every relevant vacancy until they secure a post.
3 When a suitable teaching job arises, we provide the candidate with more information about that school such as the latest Ofsted report and general information about the area.
4 Every school gets the opportunity to meet the teacher before they are offered a job, and Uteach covers the cost and arranges for travel and an overnight stay if necessary.
5 Uteach will then work with the candidate through the interview process. We also recommend that candidates are put through their paces in organising a suitable lesson plan and teaching an hour-long lesson.
How Uteach can help teachers relocate and settle in:
If the teacher is offered, and accepts the post, we then help them make the move as simple as possible, allowing them to prepare and concentrate on doing a good job:
1 Uteach helps the successful candidate find accommodation near to the school and will also organise a UK bank account (if they don’t already have one) as well as National Insurance numbers – all the details schools need for new teachers.
2 In the early stages new teachers we encourage regular communication between both everyone the school, teacher and Uteach. This is to ensure that the teacher is settling in to the school and the area, and that the school is happy with the teacher’s performance.
3 New teachers will also work through the agency for the first one or two terms to make sure the school has the chance to see how they fit in before they commit to a longer or permanent contract.
