Fresh Market of Teachers

The vast majority of our teachers are either newly qualified or have less than 3 years’ experience. Newly qualified Irish teachers do not need to go through the NQT programme. To get QTS they just need to work successfully in a school for 300 hours, 200 of which must be contact hours. They then fill in an application for registration in Ireland. This involves the school signing a one page form to say the teacher has been successful in the year. The teacher sends this registration to GTCE and they acquire QTS. Most of the Australian teachers are eligible for the Youth Mobility Programme which means they can work in the UK for up to 2 years before they require a work permit.

All teachers who register with Uteach are fully vetted for ID, police clearances in both the UK and their home country and are reference checked. All teachers are also interviewed by our staff to assess their classroom management skills, quality of teaching and commitment to move to the UK. All this is done before the teacher’s CV is presented to schools.

As Uteach specialise in relocating teachers, we can provide a list of new teachers you will not receive from any other agency. Most of our teachers are from Ireland and Scotland, although we support diversity
