The school was named in the Ofsted Chief Inspector’s Report as 1 of the 8 most improved schools in the country.
Epsom and Ewell High School was 1 of only 3 schools that rose 4 levels in their grading categories at once.
The Bourne Education Trust was set up and it now consists of 4 primary and 4 secondary schools.
Jubilee High School was put into “Special Measures.”
Jubilee High School had the best results in its 28 years.
Mathew Arnold School was put into “Special Measures”.
Students at Mathew Arnold School achieved the best results in it’s history of 41 years.
The Trust has supported 3 schools in coming out of special measures and further 3 from moving from ‘RI’ to ‘good’. These have all been achieved in short time scales.
In the three academic years ending 2016/17, we recruited seventy teachers from Uteach.
These teachers were trained in Ireland, Canada, Spain & England and many of these teachers were promoted to senior management positions within the Trust.
We have already recruited four teachers for the 2017/18 academic year and we are attending interview days in February in Belfast and Dublin with Uteach to recruit additional teachers. Working with Uteach we have managed to retain a very high proportion of the new recruits.
Forming a strong relationship with Uteach who specialises in this sector, is extremely important in providing us with the teachers that we require to enable us to meet our recruitment objectives.
I hope that you are successful in your recruitment activities this year.
